It’s not often that people get paid to do what they love. For the past 4 years I’ve worked at a desk job that pays the bills. It’s not a bad job, but it’s nothing I’m passionate about. I’ve had to squeeze in everything else in during my spare time: writing this blog, volunteering with the Montavilla Farmer’s Market, running the PDX Food Swap, and coordinating weddings and events.
But as of next week, that’s all gonna change. As of next week, I’m going to do what I love full time! I’m coming on board with Plate & Pitchfork, as an event planner.
I am so damn excited.
I’ll spend my summer working on farms alongside some of the best chefs, producers, farmers, winemakers in the region. During the rest of the year, I’ll be coordinating ForkLift events, private events, weddings, and fundraisers. We’ve got some exciting things in the works. And, if you’re ever in need of an event planner, you now know who to call!
But, don’t fret! I’m not going anywhere. I’ll still be writing and posting here on my blog. In addition, I’ll be contributing and editing the Plate and Pitchfork Blog. If anything, this ensures that you’ll hear from me more often. :)
All that to say, I can’t wait. I’m overwhelmed, and excited, and grateful.
Here’s to new beginnings! And to taking risks. And to doing what you love.
